The math

Regular adult admission at OMA is $20, so timing the visit to the free window keeps $40 in a couple's pocket and up to $80 for a family of four — each month it comes around. And since this free day is open to everyone, it's the cheapest possible way through the door. The catch is capacity, not money: free slots are reserved in advance and the popular dates go first, so the reservation is the real currency here.

  • Who qualifies: everyone — no residency requirement on this one.
  • Reservations: No reservation required for Access for All.
  • What's covered: Free admission to all visitors, live performances, interactive activities.
  • Schedule detail: Access for All — skipped in November (Festival of Trees).
  • Worth knowing: Active-duty military, veterans and first responders are free every day with valid ID — not just on Access for All Thursdays. Note: galleries closed for exhibition change Aug 28-Sep 24, 2026.

Other ways in, no calendar required

  • Households with a SNAP EBT card can use Museums for All: free-to-$5 admission for up to four, valid during regular hours at 1,700+ institutions across the country — look up OMA on the official participant list.
  • An art- or history-museum membership from another city may already cover OMA: check the NARM roster with our reciprocity lookup — a qualifying membership travels to 1,400+ museums.

Dates don't line up?

Regular tickets ($20 adult) are on omart.org — skip third-party sellers, the official price is the floor. And if you hold a museum, science-center or zoo membership from another city, run it through our reciprocity lookup — it may already get you in.
