FreeMuseumDay has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms that ask who you are. The lookup tools run entirely in your browser — the museum you pick and the dates you check are not transmitted to us. The data we do handle comes from two places: standard analytics, and the advertising described below.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful — page views, approximate region, and which tools get used. This data is aggregated; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors. IP addresses are processed by Google as part of providing the service.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to collect information in the course of ads being served on this website, including to measure ad performance and to personalize ad content.
You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at google.com/policies/privacy/partners.
Your choices: you may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
Some pages may include affiliate links (for example to Amazon). If you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links appear after the answer on a page, never above it, and never change what the answer says. Pages that contain them carry a disclosure.
Anything unclear, or a request about data: contact us. This policy was last updated September 2026 and changes ship on this page.
